OBJETIVO

The intentions and initial questions were: - Reformulate the typical compact building between dividing walls understood as a simple extrusion of the plot. - How should the building relate to the shape of the block?, mainly its solid resolution, closed and compact. - Reformulate the building between dividing walls so that the vertically built mass also leaves its empty register vertically on the mass of the block. - In what way should inhabitants inhabit experience and interact inside and outside the building? - Prioritize the orientation of the building towards the northeast by accompanying the solar route. - Generate an architectural piece where the emptiness of the same generates tension just as the built mass does. - Think of each housing unit as a house in height. Inquire about the experience that this means in the concrete dwelling. - Explore the use of aluminum, its scope and possibilities for both industrial and artisanal use. - Link the building with the public space of the path and the street, maintaining a visual and material continuity.

CONTEXTO

At the end of 2009, the commission was made to build a high-rise building on a 8.66m lot facing south in the Echesortu neighborhood of the city of Rosario. It is located within the urban blocks of the city near the bus station and in the geographic center of the city. The main guidelines of the order were to use as much as possible the constructible m2 according to the Urban Code of Rosario and to use products derived from aluminum since the order is made by a marketer of products derived from aluminum (profiles, carpentry lines, steel-frame, sheeting, etc).

ACTUACIÓN

The challenge was posed by placing the building on only one of its medians and freeing the lateral wall on the north and east sides to achieve a vertical vacuum in the lot according to the regulations that establish minimum 3m to ventilate and illuminate and 1 , 15m to illuminate apartments. By means of this operation to lateralize the building, it was sought to obtain natural lighting on the greater amount of east-north facade surface mainly. The building is conceived as two "towers" joined together by a circulation / open corridor as a high path, thus eliminating the idea of closed shield. In this way, the housing units are always entered through an open space facing the vertical void and the inner courtyard facing northeast. It was sought that each dwelling unit of the building be particular and unique. The lighting and natural ventilation articulated with diverse spatial distributions due to the changing morphology of the vertical development building are the conditions that make each unit have a unique character. For the conformation of the external closures and skin, being the customer supplier of aluminum, there were approximately 10 coils of aluminum sheet of 500 microns stored in deposit since the late 80s. It was decided to make use of them, subjecting them to a process of adaptation and manufacture of panels.
