OBJETIVO
Families are changed and new people are coming to the city that is a door por the "llanos orientales" of Colombia, coming to doing business, study or have vacations in a hot weather, or even get across to get the jungle. So we develop a very flexibility structure in order to satisfy the different type of clients. Generating at the same time a social construction between neighbors.
CONTEXTO
Climate is so intense, thats why we design 6-story high open building (like good city centers in Europe) has a sun-protected patio that creates a low-light indoor microclimate that with its shadows, water fountains, vegetation and constant breezes, cool off from the strong heat.
Humidity is so high therefore we need to have crossing ventilation in every space. (even bathrooms). Thats why, typologies, tectonics and threshold plays to role for a better place to live at the deferents scales.
Also people likes to live near to the street " the llaneros" like to have a good connection with ground and the street life: Balconies and terraces are needed in that purpose.
ACTUACIÓN
First floor to the street have comercial stores and comunal spaces to make a "border or street" a life, and also bring life to patios.
The main patio with a fountain and trees is surrounded by communal activities and by bridges, balconies and terraces, promoting the encounters of the inhabitants together with the possibility of multiple routes and comunal experiences.
On the top a Swimming pool with a view and a shaded terrace for "hamacas and BBQ" is a good opportunity to reconnect people with the espectacular geography.
Main facades are well orienter North - South, with always a natural crossing ventilation due his good orientation. Sunshades are to protect from the sun and are movable to protect interior privacy and appropriate thresholds.
Color is an issue, because the rain (4000 mm per year), we need eaves to protect impact and well maintenance for facades, but also a color that control intensity of light and brightness, like this mud color that combine well this strong green fo nature vegetation around us.
