OBJETIVO

THE ARENA BUILDING

The form / The Portal

The building materializes as a container, which is strategically positioned on the terrain, with overwhelming formalization given its character as a large-scale urban / metropolitan facility. Its main access is formalized in an arch / portal that becomes an outdoor stage.

The black box / translucent skin.

The building is constituted by two textures:

- “The black box”, the interior of the event space, which contains a court, stands and logistics related to stages, shows and services. It is materialized by a solid volume of characters.

- “The envelope”, delimiting a transition space between the interior and the exterior, where the interaction, circulation spaces, distribution halls and main hall of multiple heights are given, a skin made up of a “light” metal structure and a translucent / polycarbonate enclosure, generating controlled openings and closings.

CONTEXTO

THE SQUARE

The multipurpose square is adjacent to Varela and Larrañaga avenues, a way of channeling the largest movements of people and generating a greater front, made up of the building and the park. A clear space of urban scale that provides perspective, distance and time towards the new building.

Defined as a great esplanade, continuous and warped, fluidly organizing the different levels of access to the Arena. The large stage space / entrance access, which defines the character of the building and its vocation as an urban landmark.
