Starting from analyzing place and program, our thought was of having a project that could, above all, provide strong connection with the neighborhood. Such task, which seemed promising since its land offered access to two streets, became more complicated when we found out that, for reasons of urban planning legislation, the building could not have any access to Fidalga street. That forced us to imagine a relationship between the building and the city using the funneled part of the land on Wisard street. The solution was to create an inner boulevard leading to a high plaza, inside the block. Situated on the highest elevation of the land, the plaza has a privileged relationship with the neighborhood and serves as an arrival and fellowship spot for the community. The space for circulation on the various floors is sorted around a void that runs along the building from top to bottom. With variable volumes and bathed in natural light, the void makes communication among all floors of the building possible with the fellowship square and provides amazing views from inside the building. The building attempts to apply, as much as possible, the use of industrialized material and component. The closures are made of glass panels or colored thermal-acoustic metal tiles. The southern facade, where there is little sunlight, glass prevails. In the other facades, the balconies and metal tile panels make the designed volume more closed and protected from the excess of sunlight.
